Now in its ninth year, the Coastline Classic Golf Day again attracted wonderful support from suppliers and customers alike.

The superb facilities of Canford Magna Golf Club in Wimborne , hosted the event for the fourth successive year and, as has become customary, it rained !   But nothing could dampen the spirits of the 80 golfers who took park in what turned out to be a very enjoyable day.  Coastline staff managed the event to their usual high standard and celebrities, Bob Wilson, the ex Arsenal and Scotland goalkeeper, and Harry Redknapp, Tottenham Hotspur's Manager ,  were also there to support the day.

After an extended days golf, the 19th was busy with stories of heroic efforts, missed shots and difficult greens . Late afternoon, players and guests made their way to the dining room for a delicious meal followed by some spiriting and thought provoking speeches given by representatives of both this year's chosen charities.

The "Willow Foundation" helps young adults aged between 18-40 with serious illnesses , by supplying special days out .  For the seventh year 'Willow' was the main beneficiary of the day's fund raising  and once again Bob Wilson provided some wonderful anecdotes of his footballing career !  Meg Wilson gave us a very moving insight into how their charity started and why it is so important to keep up with the fund raising.  Megs then followed with a taste of what is was like to be an original 'Footballer's Wife', claiming that the WAG's of today are quite tame in comparison with some of the wives she knew in her era!
Coastline's second nominated charity,  'Help the Heroes ',  was represented by Billy Hughes who also gave a very moving account of how this charity was founded, reading out letters from service men who had been injured or traumatised whilst on active service.

The main reason for the Coastline Golf day is to help raise as much money as possible for both these very worthwhile causes and, once again, this was done admirably with help of Dennis Roach who added his wonderful wit and banter with the charity auction. Thanks to the raffle and generous selection of items to be auctioned  -  from a football signed by the Manchester United 2008 squad, a luxury break for 2 at the Swan Hotel in Wells, a signed Banks & Pele print of the 'Greatest ever Save', a pamper day for 2 at Christchurch Harbour Hotel  -  to numerous other sporting memorabilia , over £7,000 was raised.  So a very big Coastline thank you to all who donated , as this was the most successful yet!
Coastline would also like to thank it's sponsors , Tilda, Unilever, Cadbury's, Macphies. Lamb Weston, Britvic, Hendersons, RH Amar, Nestle,Sewards, P&R Produce, Leathams and Inspire , who without their generosity and support, help's make this event the success it's become.

Finally, thanks to all those who took part, and here is a reminder of some of the winners:
Coastline Classic Champion -  Matt Foster
Team Winners  -  Alan Froud, Barry Froud, Paul Neilson & Lawrence Scott
